Capt. Brent Courtney & Ted Cummings
Capt. Courtney is a lifelong professional pilot and has been a Boeing 737 pilot for Southwest Airlines for many years. Describing his career from pilot training at Hook's to instructor pilot, to commercial pilot for various companies, and finally becoming a pilot for Southwest. He educated the members on the history of the Boeing 737 and the airline industry's inner workings, including showing some of Southwest's state-of-the-art training facilities located at Dallas Love Field. He then walked us through a typical day in his life. He started at 5 am at Hobby going over his pre-flight paperwork [Now on a tablet computer]; flying to DFW; changing aircraft & flying to Orland; and finally to Puerto Rico. Many questions and extended discussions followed his presentation.
