On March 29, 2022, Jenny Carattini-Wright (Executive Director of The Woodlands Arts Council) spoke to the membership of the Magnolia Rotary Club about the upcoming Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival that will be held on April 9-10, 2022. Club Program Manager, Jessica Brooks, introduced Jenny Carattini-Wright telling everyone that she has been in the non-profit industry for over 20 years and has impacted local schools, national charitable arts organizations, public/private partnerships, religious organizations, and business associations. Jenny has also been a Certified Nonprofit Executive (CFEE) since 2013 and in 2015 she completed the Certified Nonprofit Executive program from the Leadership Institute for Nonprofit Executives at Rice University. Jenny specializes in event planning, organizational audits and assessments, corporate partnerships. and transitional projects. Under her leadership, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival has become one of the most sought-after fine arts festivals in the nation. Jenny also serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Festivals & Events Association and has been a resident of The Woodlands sine 1994 where she and her husband, Mitch, raised three children.
Jenny told everyone that she got involved with The Woodlands Art Council in 2005 and became its Festival Director in 2011. Jenny also told everyone that the largest crowd that ever attended The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival was around 19,000 and it was 18,000 in 2021. Even in 2020 when the festival had to be held online, it did not lose any of its sponsors and artists still were able to sell their art. The festival expects around 200 artists in 2022.
Jenny also showed a 30 second video showing a previous arts festival that was held along The Woodlands Waterway and handed out several flyers. Jenny also told everyone that the tickets to the festival are $15 for either Saturday or Sunday and $20 for both days. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.thewoodlandsartscouncil.org/
