On June 23, 2015, Real Provencher spoke to the club about the recent Rotary 2015 International Conference that he attended. Real Provencher is shown in the photo.

Real told everyone that he felt the recent Rotary 2015 International Conference held in Sao Paulo Brazil was simply a "step up" from any of our District Conferences and really helped him to see how much good Rotary is doing in the world. He highly recommends it and has suggested to the membership that we start a fund to allow our President Elect members to attend it.

Real brought back a number of keynote speaker's presentations from the conference and showed the membership a recorded clip of Bella Field talking to the Rotary 2015 International Conference attendees about herself and her fund raising efforts in Great Britian. Real told everyone how inspiring this young 10 year was to him and thought that if she could raise large amounts of money for charity every member has the potential to do the same.

In the clip, Bella Field (who won the RIBI Young Citizen Award) tells the story about how close she was to her older sister Molly growing up and how Molly would always tell her stories and read to her. However, when Molly was only 8 years old, she was diagnosed with a rare inoperable and incurable brain tumor that led to her death only 6 months later. The hospital that Molly was at is known as the Haven House Children's Hospital and it was Bella who decided to try and raise funds for the hospital and her sister. With her first attempt, Bella was able to raise £3,000. It was at this time that Molly Field wrote a trilogy titled The Adventures of Ella Rose. She went on writing her novels even when her vision started to be destroyed by a brain tumor. The story sees a girl, Isabella, traveling to different worlds with her unicorn, as they defeat the evil Queen Ursula.

Bella then set about to raise more funds by selling the book her sister wrote and raised £5,000 with her next attempt. Having been successful twice she continued her fund raidising efforts and over time raised over £90,000 for the Haven House Children's Hospital.

Before Molly died, she was visited by best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson who after visiting with Molley decided to dedicate her new novel to Molly. The dedication in her new novel will read: "In memory of Molly and her sister Isabella who loved each other dearly."

After the presentation was over, Dan Lowe gave out Blue Badges to our newest members, Candace Cabots, Kelly Mc Donald, and Glenn Buckley. See photos below:
