The Rotary Club of Magnolia heard a Recap of the Rotary International Conference in Seoul South Korea from the club members who attended.

The Club had six attend, Real and Barbara Provencher, Frank and Marcy Parker, Kandice Cabets, and Kelly McDonald.  Prior to the meeting, Real presented a wonderful video that he compiled on the trip that included comments from the members as well as the venue and the surrounding area.
The Conference was attended by over 40,000 people from 103 countries requiring the use of two centers to hold it.  Seoul is the capital of South Korea and the second largest metropolitan area in the world. 
Frank talked about WASRAG, Water and Sanitation Rotary Action Group and its efforts to sustainably bring Clean water and sanitation to the world.  Marcy added that in Lebanon, they are working to bring fresh water to schools and using micro loans for toilets. Barbara addressed the problem of human trafficking and slavery in the world.  It is a $185 Billion business involving 35 million slaves. The problem is worldwide, even Houston is a hub. Kandice detailed how slaves are recruited even from our own schools. The conference was centered on Peace and how Rotary can help by addressing problems in Water, Sanitation, Human Trafficking, Slavery, Education and Health.
