On 04/16/2019, President Elect Janice Thigpen spoke to the membership of the Magnolia Rotary Club about the Rotary 2019-2020 year coming up in July. Pictured above is Janice Thigpen.
Janice handed out blank sheets of paper to each table at the meeting and asked for possible ideas for future service projects for our club. Also, she asked if anyone thinks of a project after the meeting, that she be sent the idea via email. Janice hopes to do service projects that represent the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self". She also asked everyone to think of something we could do to add a spring fund raiser.
Next Janice showed everyone part of a film from PETS of the next International Rotary President, Mark Daniel Maloney. Mark told everyone at PETS that the club president sets the tone for a club and if the president is enthusiastic about their club, the membership is usually enthusiastic also. Mark also mentioned that next year's Rotary International Meeting will be held in Honolulu Hawaii. Mark also told everyone that next years Rotary Theme will be "Rotary Connects The World".
