On December 4, 2018, Coach J.D. Berna (Campus Athletic Director) introduced this quarter's Students of Excellence to the members of the Magnolia Rotary Club. Pictured above from left to right are: Golf Coach Jim Kearns, Head Football Coach J.D. Berna, students Kamryn Jones, Tristan Brady, Mary King, and Cameron Decort.
 
Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens introduced Head Football Coach, J.D. Berna who talked about how outstanding each of the 4 students were before introducing them one at a time:
 
  • Tristan Brady - Although in a knee brace due to a recent injury, Tristan (a Junior) is expected to be the MWHS Quarterback next year. His favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing and he is planning on getting a business degree at Texas A&M University.
  • Kamryn Jones - Kamryn (a Junior) who is a star on the MWHS Basketball Team enjoys spending time with her family. She is planning on going to the University of Houston where she hopes to become a Pharmacist after she graduates.
  • Cameron Decort - Cameron (a Senior) is a star on the MWHS Golf Varsity Team who enjoys both Golf and Basketball. He has applied to several universities including the University of Texas, Ohio State, and University of Georgia. He wants to major in Accounting and Business with plans on becoming a Financial Broker after graduation.
  • Mary King - Mary (a Junior) helps with the every day athlete meal program and is involved in many academic clubs and associations as well as loving to volunteer in local organizations. She hopes to become an attorney one day and plans on majoring in Criminal Justice but has not yet decided on a University.
