On May 6, 2015, the Rotary Clubs of Montgomery County put on the annual Mike Ogg Scholar Athlete Banquet at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. In the photo above, President of the Magnolia Rotary Club, Dan Lowe, reads out the names of the finalists for 10 female and 10 male UIL sports.
 
This year, the Rotary Clubs of Montgomery County awarded a record $38,000 in scholarships to Montgomery County High School seniors. Over 450 students, educators, community leaders and Rotarians attended the banquet at the Lone Star Convention Center to honor the 144 nominated scholar athletes. The top 100 students made up the finalist who received various rewards and scholarships.
 
All 10 finalists winners (one for each sport) were awarded $800 scholarships and commemorative medallions in addition to any other awards received.
 
The overall gold award male winner was soccer defender Christopher Yeats from Montgomery High School. The overall gold award female winner was basketball forward, Nicole McNulty from Magnolia High School. Both Nicole and Christopher were awarded $6.000 scholarships and a Scholar Athlete Ring from Herff Jones.
 
The overall silver award male winner was tennis player Jonathon Pache from Montgomery High School. The overall silver award female winner was soccer player Kaitlin Alexander from Oak Ridge High School. Both Jonathan and Kaitlin were awarded $4,000 scholarships.
 
The overall bronze award male winner was baseball and football player Grogan Matthews from Willis High School. The overall bronze award female winner was golfer Kaleigh Brady from College Park High School. Both Grogan and Kaleigh were awarded $2,000 scholarships.
 
The meal served was beef and chicken fajitas with rice and black beans plus several bakery choices for desert. Water, tea, and coffee were served with the meal. The center pieces on each of the almost 50 tables were made from yellow roses, yellow tulips, and yellow hdrangeas plus green plants.
