On 5/12/2015, the Rotary Club of Magnolia, hosted lunch for the 8th grade students and their business sponsors involved in the MISD & Rotary Job Shadow Program. Both the Job Shadow students and their business sponsors are shown in the photo above.

Deborah Rose-Miller presented each of the business people involved in the Job Shadow Program and had each business leader call up the students who shadowed them in their business and then talk a little bit about what they did while at those businesses. Eleven of the students are from Magnolia Junior High and ten of the students are from Bear Branch Junior High. Each student was picked by the principal of the school they attend. For Magnolia Junior High, that principal is Mike Metz and for Bear Branch Junior High, that principal is Gerald Evans.

The businesses who participated in the 2015 Job Shadow Program are:

1. Country Air
2. Enchanted Florist
3. Magnolia Fire Department
4. Magnolia Sign Source
5. Magnolia YMCA
6. Montgomery County Constables Office
7. Paws to Claws Veterinary Care
8. Quadvest
9. Shady Brook Animal Hospital
10. Texas Renaissance Festival

All students received paper certifications that they had participated in the Job Shadow Program and all businesses received plaques with a photo of the students they hosted as well as their business name. One of the students stated that although she had never thought about being a florist, after shadowing at the Enchanted Florist business had decided that they will pursue a job and eventually a business in that industry.
