On 9/27/2016, Mike Metz, the Principal at Magnolia High School (MHS), introduced this quarter's "Student's of Excellence" from MHS. Pictured above from left to right are: Caitlin Clements, Eric Bradberry, Lucy Stinn, Laylon Mokry, and Principal Mike Metz.
 
MHS Principal Mike Metz told the group that he has the great privilege of working with and being around all of the students who were being honored. He also stated that all the teachers had input on the selection of the students and that it was an extremely hard task to pick the final four. With that, he introduced and talked about each student in the following order:
 
1. Caitlin Clements - a member of the Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta), NHS, a four year varsity letterman in swimming, a two time regional athlete of the meet, four Silver Medals (50, 100, 200, free), and the Swimming and Diving Team Captain for two years. Caitlin told everyone that will be attending the University of Missouri on a Swimming Scholarship.
 
2. Eric Bradnerry - in the top 11% of his class, in NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, & DECA, a active member at Stonebridge Church, a three year recipient of the Citizenship Award, a three year varsity letterman in baseball, and an "All District Honorable Mention" award. Eric told everyone that he had not yet selected a college but had several to choose from. He wants to play baseball in college and study Kinesiology 
 
3. Laylon Mokry - Commanding Officer of NJROTC, Mu Alpha Theta, NHS, Computer Science, MISD Computer Leadership Group, Boys State Delegate, Freemasons National Sojourner's Award, and Sons of the American Revolution Award. Laylon told everyone that he plans on attending the Naval Academy and train to be an Intelligence Officer.
 
4. Lucy Stinn - Distinguished High School Graduate Program, 13 total AP classes at completion of Senior Year, three year member of Varsity UIL Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science Competition, 2016 Harvard Summer School Pre-College Program in Astronomy, 2015 Brown University Summer Pre-College Program in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, 2014 Engineering National Student Leadership Conference at Northwestern University, Ranked #1 in her senior class, AP Distinguished Scholar, NHS, National Merit Commended, Mu Alpha Theta, Varsity Fine Arts Letterman for three years, three year Regional Medalist in Visual Arts, 1st place Houston Regional Science Fair in Chemistry, and Varsity Women's Golf Team Letterman for three years plus 100 plus service hours. Lucy also is a Director in her Interact Club. Lucy told everyone that she is not sure where she will attend college but that she has offers from 6 different colleges so far.
