On 11/05/2019, District 5910 District Governor Betsy Robinson visited the Magnolia Rotary Club. Pictured above from left to right are Magnolia Rotary Club President Janice Thigpen and District 5910 District Governor (DG) Betsy Robinson (receiving a personalized gift from Janice Thigpen).

DG Betsy Robinson thanked everyone for the warm greeting and especially Real & Barbara Provencher for hosting a reception for Betsy the night before at their home. DG Betsy told everyone that Rotary is her passion and that she joined Rotary in 1990 and is currently a member of the League City Rotary Club. DG Betsy also told everyone that she has now visited 37 of the 39 clubs in District 5910. She aslo spoke about how much she learned after attending her first International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. She noted that she had done just about every job in her club and is now looking forward to learning all about serving at the district level.

Betsy spoke about how true this year's theme of "Rotary Connects the World" is. She pointed out that Rotary has almost wiped out Polio (only two countries left), has drilled many water wells around the world, is now involved in world peace and has done many local projects through local country Rotary Clubs.

Betsy pointed out that our club is the number two club in the entire world for Rotary Foundation giving and we are the number one club in our district. She then asked Chase Hogan (Past President) to come up and receive all of the Rotary Foundation awards that our club has received this year. Betsy and Chase Hogan can be seen in the photo below where Chase is holding all of our Rotary Foundation Awards.
