On June 28, 2022, Carl Gerhardt was honored as 2022 Rotarian of the Year for his service to our Community and leadership in The Rotary Club of Magnolia. Pictured below from left to right are: Kelly McDonald (Magnolia Rotary Club President,) Carl Gerhardt (Chairman of Westwood Magnolia Parkway Improvement District), and Hope Moye (Magnolia Rotary Club President-Elect.) Carl has served as Treasurer and Webmaster for the Magnolia Rotary Club for over a decade. The members of the Rotary Club of Magnolia expressed their appreciation for his friendship, service, and dedication.
Kelly McDonald addressed the Membership of the Rotary Club of Magnolia and reminded them of the many accomplishments in a great year of service to our Community.
A few of these accomplishments were:
- Many hours of Community Service, including: Frank Parker and Richard Allison brush hogged and mowed the Raj Hope Foundation property
- We Supported the Magnolia Education Foundation and the Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce with their Fundraisers
- We awarded College Scholarships to deserving MISD Students
- Brought speakers from all over the United States, including U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, NASA Space Craft Operator Andrezi Stewart, Don Nichols of Houston Livestock and Rodeo, Magnolia Fire Chief Jeff Hevey, The Woodlands Art Council Executive Director Jenny Carattini-Wright, and Dr. Bob McAllister of the Lone Star College Foundation Board
- Real Provencher continued our club's Sierra Leone International Project with great success
- Through the leadership of Dr. Hugh Fullerton, we accomplished our District Grant Project designed to provide information for students and counselors on trade and technical occupation opportunities, purchased equipment and software to be used the the MISD Career and Technical Education classes, and conducted mock interviews with MISD Junior High Students to improve their skills.
