On January 5, 2016, the Magnolia Rotary Club went to Alpha Academy in Magnolia, Texas to hear Alpha Academy's Principal, Dean Frederick introduce both Sean Fewell and Rain Swilley as this quarter's Students of Excellence. Pictured above from left to right are Alpha Academy Principal Dean Frederick, Rain Swilley and Sean Fewell.

Principal Dean Frederick told the group that he is extremely proud of Alpha Academy and its teachers and students. Principal Frederick explained that Alpha Academy is a "High School of Choice" and each student must submit an application to attend and be approved by Principal Frederick before they can attend. Although many of the students who attend Alpha Academy have some home problem that prohibits them attending in a normal high school schedule, about 25% of the students who attend simply want to graduate sooner and go on to college. Principal Frederick then invited the Magnolia Rotary Club to this years graduation ceremony to be held on January 28, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at MWHS auditorium located at 42202 FM 1774, Magnolia, Texas 77353-0426. Principal Frederick then told everyone that if an Alpha Student is not successful in getting their high school diploma, it is because the student decided not to be successful. Principal Frederick said that is because every teacher at Alpha is dedicated to making every student successful in achieving their goal of high school graduation.

Principal Frederick then introduced the two "Students of Excellence" for this quarter:

1. Sean Fewell

Sean Fewell came from MWHS and joined Alpha Academy in the spring of 2015 and will be graduating on January 28, 2016. Sean has plans to attend Texas A&M after graduation. He is not yet sure what his career will be be but hopes to have that nailed down soon.

2. Isiah Rain Storm Swilley

Rain (preferred 1st name) Swilley came from outside the district 2 years ago in the spring semester and will be graduating on January 28, 2016. Rain will attend Lone Star college after graduation and wants to be a computer engineer.
