MWHS Principle Brandon Garza thanked the Magnolia Rotary Club for inviting him and his students. Mr. Garza then introduced this quarter's Students of Excellence one at a time starting with the girls:

1. Ashlynn Broussard

Ashlynn Broussard is the VP of the Senior Class, the NHS Historian, Co-Captain of the MWHS Tennis Team, a member of DECA, and a Charter Member of the Stang Gang. After graduation, Ashlynn is planning on attending UT Texas University where she will major in Biology. Ashlynn told everyone that at the beginning of this school year, she was a little apprehensive about returning to school. However, once school started, she found it to be both exciting and fun. She especially likes Principle Brandon Garza because he is involved in almost everything and makes everyone feel comfortable around him.

2. Cali De Cort

Cali De Cort is the Swim team Captain, the NHS Treasurer, a member of DECA, a member of the Stang Gang, a member of the Student Council, and is involved in UIL Academics. Cali is ready for college to start where she plans on majoring in Bio-Chemistry. She is looking at three different universities at this time, including Ohio State, but has not yet decided which university she will attend. Cali also like Principal Garza and thinks he is "Super Cool".

3. Jacob Wade

Jacob Wade is a member of NHS but is really into golf. Although he wants to major in Engineering at some yet to be determined university, he also plans on playing as a member of a college golf team. Jacob also thinks Principal Garza is cool and finds his senior year to be interesting and fun.

4. Ben Watzak

Ben is the VP of the NHS, the VP of the Rotary Interact Club, involved in both band and UIL Academics, and is also a member of Unite West. Ben has plans to attend Texas A&M University and will be majoring in Applied Mathematics. Ben is not sure where his career will go but he feels that Applied Mathematics will provide many possible choices. Ben told everyone that he had to agree with his other classmates about Principal Garza for all of the same reasons already mentioned.
