On 12/01/2015, Carl Gerhardt and Charles Schultz provided an overview of the Magnolia Rotary Club's website, Facebook Page, and the "My Rotary" website. Pictured above from left to right are Carl Gerhardt and Charles Schultz.

Carl Gerhardt started his presentation by reminding everyone that he had sent out instructions on how to get onto the "My Rotary" website and update their individual profile. Carl also mentioned that having at least 50% of all club members do this is one of the club goals so that we can get the annual "Presidential Citation" award from Rotary International.

Carl, with the help of an online overhead projector, then walked through the items listed on the Magnolia Rotary Club web site main page including showing some of the hot links to the District 5910 website and to the Magnolia Rotary Club Facebook page. Carl specifically pointed out the list of upcoming speakers and Rotary events show on the home page of the web site.

Carl then used the Facebook link on the club's web site home page to go over to the club's Facebook page to show everyone the type of info presented there. Carl pointed out that whenever there is a photo of any school kids, we get hundreds of "hits" on that Facebook page.

Charles Schultz then demonstrated how to log in to the Magnolia Rotary Club in order to view the administration part of the Magnolia Rotary Club web site and update a members profile. Charles then showed everyone how to edit their member profile including adding a photo of themselves.

A question about the ClubRunner mail service was asked and Charles demonstrated how any member can make use of the ClubRunner mail package to send emails to all or individual club members without having to know everyone's email address. This method also guarantees that the list of all members is a list off all current members and that their current email addresses (as entered by them), will be used.

Another question about how to find and edit a club member's profile on the "My Rotary" website was asked and Carl demonstrated how to log into the "My Rotary" site (www.rotary.org) and update a member's profile on that site.

Both Carl and Charles offered to stay after the meeting and help get both their profiles updated. However, everyone at the meeting thought they could now update their own profiles. Club President, Real Provencher, told everyone that he would be checking before each weekly meeting to see if our goal has been reached.
