On January 20, 2015, Principle Dean Frederick of the Magnolia Alpha Academy presented the two students of Excellence from the current graduation class. Pictured from left to right are: Riley Gallien, the school Valedictorian, Principal Dean Fredrick, and Victoria Glover, the school Salutatorian.

Principle Dean Frederick spoke to the group first about Alpha Academy and second about his two student choices for recognition at the meeting. Dean told everyone that he is extremely proud to be the principle at Alpha Academy and to be able to recognize the two students he brought with him. Dean also told everyone that Alpha Academy is approximately 14 years old and that Alpha will graduate a total of 24 students at the upcoming graduation on January 29, 2015. He also suggested strongly that if anyone had never been to an Alpha Academy graduation, now is the time to attend. Dean also stated that they have enrolled 27 new students which will bring the total number of students attending Alpha this year to 88. Dean also introduced both sets of parents and both parents indicated that Alpha saved their kids from dropping out. Dean also talked about the lengthy Alpha Student Application form and how that Riley Gallien gave one of the best answers he has ever seen to the question of "Why do you want to attend Alpha?". Riley's answer to this question was that he wanted to attend a school that has no fluff. When Dean asked him what he meant, Riley told him that it meant that he liked a school that was only interested in getting him an education. He did not have time for cheer leaders, sports, or any other extra curricular activities.

Dean explained that neither student was prepared to give a speech but explained they were prepared to answer any questions the group had for them. the first question was what did each student like about Alpha?

Riley Gallien stated that he liked the "quite" in the classroom and the close connection with the students. Victoria  Glover liked the small class size and the hands on approach of the teachers.

The next question for each student was what were their plans after graduation?

Riley Gallien stated that he was headed to Lone Star College and then a yet unknown university. Victoria glover stated that she needed a job and also planned to attend Lone Star College. Several of the Rotarians suggested places that might be hiring.

The last question asked of both students is why they were in such a hurry to graduate and enter the work force?

Both students stated that they needed money for responsibilities they had and could not afford the time to go through a normal process.

After that, Deborah Miller stated that unlike previous years, she was going to announce the candidates for Paul Harris Awards this year. They are:

1. Cecil Bell
2. Faith Fisher
3. Kendrick Skipper
4. Jennifer West
