On January 24, 2017, the Magnolia Rotary Club traveled to Magnolia High School to meet with the 1st Quarter 2017 Students of Excellence. Pictured from left to right in the photo above are: Joy Fields, Ava Schwienteck, Robbie Smothers, Jacob Frazier, and Assistant Principal Mark Hibner.
 
Assistant Principal Mark Hibner introduced the four Magnolia High School (MHS) Students of Excellence to the members of the Magnolia Rotary Club and told everyone that was extremely proud of each of the four students as they are amoung the best of the best students at MHS. Mr. Hibner then asked each of the students to tell the group a little bit about themselves.
 
1. Joy Fields - Joy loves MHS and the staff at the school. She also loves swinning and has been a member of the MHS Swim Team for 4 years. She plans to attend Texas A&M University and to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and to pursue a career in that field.
 
2. Ava Schwienteck - Ava also loves the staff at MHS and has been a member of the MHS Golf Team for 4 years. Her parents hope she might be able to go to the next Olympics. Joy plans on attending UT Arlington after high school where she will pursue a degree in Finance. Her career plans will include either Golf or Finance.
 
3. Robbie Smothers - Robbie also loves MHS and its great staff and has been a member of the MHS Football Team for the past 4 years. Robbie plans to attend Sam Houston University for the first two years before transfering to Texas A&M for the remainder of his college. Robbie wants to major in Veterinary Science with plans to become a small animal Vet for his career.
 
4. Jacob Frazier - Jacon also loves MHS and its staff and has been on both the Football and Basketball Teams for the past three years. Jacon plans on attending Kilgore College and major in General Business until he decides what career field to go into.
